Five years back on World Photography Day – 19th August 2010 our association was launched at the hands of the then Chief Minister of Goa. The whole idea of forming our association started on 6th September 2009, when SEVEN shutterbugs – Saish Borkar, Saurabh Dalvi, Apoorv Bhembre, Nilesh Prabhudesai, Sailee Sawant, Radhakant Divkar and Lynn Barreto Miranda met on a rainy day to have a photo walk in Borda, Margao. This small step turned out to be a giant catalyst in forming, Goa’s First Photography Association “The GOAN SHUTTERBUGS”.
As we continue on our journey in documenting, preserving and carrying forward the memories and the rich heritage of Goa, to the future generations, we would like to thank all our friends who have helped us craft these beautiful images.
To celebrate our fifth anniversary we have started a unique project where we plan to photograph two different generations of a family together – the grandparent and the grandchild. To make this project successful we need your help. Please suggests names of people (your family members/friends/neighbours etc) who would be interested in having their photos clicked.
Kindly email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with theirs and your name and contact number. Our members will go to their home at their convenience and click the same.
The photographs clicked will be exhibited at our 3rd GOA Photography Festival to be held in Margao.
