WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY
originates from the invention of the Daguerreotype, a photographic processes developed by Joseph Nicèphore Nièpce and Louis Daguerre in 1837. On January 9, 1839, The French Academy of Sciences announced the daguerreotype process. A few months later, on August 19, 1839, the French government purchased the patent and announced the invention as a gift “Free to the World”.
And on 6th September 2009, SEVEN shutterbugs – Saish Borkar, Saurabh Dalvi, Apoorv Bhembre, Nilesh Prabhudesai, Sailee Sawant, Radhakant Divkar and Lynn Barreto Miranda met on a rainy day at BM Hall to have a photo walk in Borda. This small step turned out to be a giant catalyst in forming on 19th August 2010 Goa’s First Photography Association “The GOAN SHUTTERBUGS”.
